Mission Statement
The Mission of the Indianhead
Country Combine shall be to engage AU chartered clubs as a
group or "combine" in the highest of standards within the
hobby and sport of 'racing in competition' with Registered
Homing Pigeons. To promote the hobby and sport of pigeon
racing, by properly caring for, breeding, training and
racing Registered Homing Pigeons under the latest and best
possible environmental and scientific conditions. To foster
a positive social environment for the members and their
families and friends. To provide the best possible guidance
and mentoring to our youth. To serve the local communities
with pigeon releases and positive information when called
upon, such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day,
National Eagle Center functions and others, including
Veteran Military Honors Services.
The Indianhead Country Combine
was established in 2006 by the Red Cedar Racing Pigeon Club
and the Spooner Racing Pigeon Club. It was named by Jim
Thompson (RCR) in honor of "Native American" friend and
veteran racing pigeon fancier (retired) "Duke" Larson of the
Red Cedar Racing Pigeon Club. It is a group of Chartered AU
Clubs in the "Indianhead Country" of northwestern
Wisconsin. It is a member organization of the American
Racing Pigeon Union (AU) and works, cooperates and
participates in AU qualified pigeon races with The Midwest
Homing Pigeon Association and The Heartland Racing Pigeon
Federation.
The Indianhead Country Combine
shall admit for membership, any AU chartered club in or near
the boundaries of the historic and commonly referred to area
known as the "Indianhead Country" of northwestern Wisconsin.
